Today, July 25th, Continent 8 Technologies, a flagship online gaming infrastructure and hosting provider based in the Isle of Man, revealed that it has made its official debut in North Carolina, meaning it gets the chance to supply local operators with its top solutions just before the official opening of North Carolina’s regulated market for legal online sports wagering which will take place during the early 2024.
House Bill 347:
In June of this year, Governor Roy Cooper officially signed into law House Bill 347, which allows a maximum of 12 sportsbook operators to provide mobile and online wagering to players in North Carolina in addition to the three land-based tribal sportsbooks allowed by existing law.
All statics indicate that the online sports wagering market will be important, as North Carolinians are projected to bet $6.8bn by year two, generating nearly $100m for the state by year five.
